Today, we are pleased to announce that FlamesRising.com editor-in-chief Matt M McElroy and long-time contributor and project manager Monica Valentinelli are featured in a new World of Darkness supplement for Onyx Path Publishing ^[2]. The book, which has been put together by senior developer Matt McFarland, is called Dark Eras, and the full, unedited text is available for fans to read on the Dark Eras Kickstarter page. The Dark Eras Kickstarter is for a prestige edition of the book for both fans and retailers.

Dark Eras presents nine chapters reflecting a historical era tailored to each of the nine New World of Darkness game lines. The sections are written for the currently available edition of the game line, but they are designed to be usable with any edition. The section that Monica and Matt collaborated on was for Hunter: the Vigil.

Hunter: the Vigil — Doubting Souls is set between 1690-1695. Immigrants and tribes struggle to co-exist on the eastern seaboard in the ever-expanding North American Colonies. Violent clashes, supernatural beliefs, and demonic influences spell disaster for Salem Village and its surrounding towns, while other Hunters fight werewolves and vampires on the frontier. With so much at risk, only god-fearing men and women are deemed innocent — and those are few indeed. Monica Valentinelli writer & Matt McElroy developer.

Hunter fans may be interested to know that Doubting Souls incorporates new and existing material to flesh out what was happening during that time period. In particular, new material was created for the Knights of Saint George, the Scarlet Watch, and a never-before-seen compact called Les Voyageurs to better reflect the state of the compacts and conspiracies during the Colonial era. Notes for various playing styles are also addressed as well, so fans can hunt monsters on the frontier or investigate the supernatural in the court room.
