Austin Chronicle interviews George Romero
By Matt-M-McElroy | March 1, 2008
Drop by the Austin Chronicle’s website for an interesting discussion between Spencer Parsons and Diary of the Dead director George Romero:
George Romero’s latest state of the union via flesh-eating legions of the undead
I just can’t resist that stuff, man. I grew up on EC comic books, and it’s all gags and puns. I don’t think of my films as particularly scary. There are startles in them. I think maybe Night of the Living Dead is the only one maybe that gets under your skin a little. … The Amish farmer, though, I really sweated that one! Because of the format, I thought, “Can I really do something that silly?” Obviously I came down on the silly side. … Sometimes you get wacky ideas and think, “I should probably throw that out.” But it could be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. I mean we all know it’s a movie. Gimme a break. Let’s just have as much fun as we can.
This is a great interview, plenty of fun quotes from Romero. Enjoy!

Talking to the Dead, an interview with Nathan Tucker
By Matt-M-McElroy | February 1, 2008
Eve of the Dead, a zombie novel by Nathan Tucker, combines the vision of Romero’s post-apocalyptic world with the break-neck pace and action of pulp zombie fiction at its finest to create a story that will leave you begging for more.
I recently had the chance to have short conversation with Nathan about writing Eve of the Dead and the challenges of getting from the idea stage to the final product. I didn’t want to reveal too many spoilers, so this interview is mostly about Nathan’s writing style in regards to the book.

Abe Sapien (Doug Jones) talks Hellboy 2 at ReelzChannel
By Matt-M-McElroy | January 30, 2008
One of the movies that I am really looking forward to checking out is Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
I’ve been following the press releases and trailers and rumors as I get the time. Guillermo del Toro and his team have not let me down yet. I’ve also re-watched Hellboy and Hellboy: Blood & Iron a couple of times just for fun.
