Contest and Celebrating Girl Geeks

Posted on June 28, 2011 by Monica Valentinelli

Girl Geek Week at mlvwrites.comWhat do FlamesRising.com readers and me have in common? A love for all things geek, of course!

Yesterday, I launched a theme week on my blog at www.mlvwrites.com about all things girly and geeky. This week-long celebration is due, in part, to my new column debuting in July on the Geeks Dream Girl website about freelancing for the hobby games industry.

The second reason, is because of something I said in my introductory post.

No woman should ever be afraid to admit they play games, read comic books, watch anime or dress up in costumes or know how to spell Cthulhu. — SOURCE: Announcing Girl Geek Week at mlvwrites.com

So far, I offered my take on so-called “games for girls” and launched a new contest this morning. The Freaking Fabulous Contest prizes? I think they’re pretty awesome, because you get to choose what you want to win. One of those prizes is a twenty-five dollar virtual gift certificate sponsored by DriveThruRPG.com and DriveThruComics.com. How cool is that?

Tomorrow’s post will be a LOT of fun, because if you’re a geek like I am… The statements will most likely apply…

Hope you’ll join me celebrating all things geeky and girly. Prima geekas (and primo geekos) unite!

What do you get out of it?

Beyond helping out fellow Flames Rising readers by letting them know what you think of these products, we're giving away some pretty cool stuff. Regular Reviewers can earn free products to review, which is their to keep after the review is submitted to the site.

Note: We are especially looking for folks interested in reviewing eBooks (both Fiction & Comics). We have lots of great titles in digital format and even get advance copies sometimes.
