R.I.P. Gary Gygax

Posted on March 4, 2008 by Matt-M-McElroy

E. Gary Gygax has passed away. Gary was one of the creators of Dungeons & Dragons, in addition to many other games and novels over the years.

I had the chance to game with him a couple of times at various conventions over the years. I’m planning on GMing a little old-school “Dungeon Crawl” tonight, I think he would have appreciated that.

Don’t dwell on the man’s passing, celebrate his life…go play.

A sad day. I met Gary several times over the course of my (brief) RPG writing career, and I was always impressed by his love for his games, his affection for the gaming hobby and its participants, and how he encouraged everyone to use their imaginations every day. RIP.

  2. RIP, Gary. You’ll be missed.
